Tajweed is the science of correct Quran recitation — covering the articulation points of each Arabic letter (Makhaarij), the characteristics of letters (Sifaat), rules of elongation (Madd), and stopping rules (Waqf). Online Tajweed classes teach these rules systematically through live, one-to-one sessions with a certified teacher who can hear and correct your recitation in real time.

What Families Are Saying

My son had tried two other online academies before this one and struggled to connect with the teachers. With Voice of Ommah, he genuinely looks forward to his sessions. The teacher is patient, structured, and the classroom tools keep him engaged throughout. We saw real progress in just the first month.

What I love most is being able to see my daughter's teacher profile before committing. Knowing the qualifications and background gave me complete confidence. Her Tajweed has improved dramatically — she can now identify rules she could never articulate before. Alhamdulillah, a brilliant academy.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tajweed and why is it important?

Tajweed is the set of rules governing correct Quran recitation. Learning Tajweed ensures that each letter is pronounced from its correct articulation point with the right characteristics, as the Quran was revealed and transmitted. Many scholars consider applying Tajweed while reciting to be obligatory (Fard 'ayn).

Do I need to know Tajweed to start a Tajweed course?

You need to be able to read Arabic (ideally with some fluency). If you cannot yet read Arabic, you would first complete Noorani Qaida and then move to the Tajweed course.

How long does it take to learn Tajweed?

Learning the core rules of Tajweed takes 6–18 months depending on frequency of lessons and prior knowledge. Applying Tajweed to the full Quran is an ongoing process that develops over years of practice.
